LEARNING IN THE JUNIOR ROOM
The Junior Room at Tapu School offers very special learning opportunities for those children classified as Year 0 to 3. The highlights are:
- Class size is very desirable
- Marlene is a highly qualified experienced expert teacher at this level
- The room is exceptionally well resourced
- The school Board budgets to maintain resourcing levels
- There are sufficient computers for each child to have access to the technology when required
- Children’s work is the centre of an extremely stimulating child centred environment
- Achievement levels indicate that the children are responding strongly to the individual attention each child receives. For example year 2 children are achieving above stanine 6 ( the national average ) in Reading, Spelling and Mathematics
