COVID 19 UPDATES

At last all restrictions have now been eased so its back to business as usual here at school - although perhaps taking a bit more care to be vigilant with hand washing, social distancing, staying home when unwell and testing if you think it is possible that you may have COVID, or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive. Currently there are no restrictions on household members to isolate, but if your child tests positive, they will need to stay away for the full 7 days - and longer if necessary to ensure they test negative before coming back to school. Please let the school know if your child/ren will be away with COVID or if you require any additional help that we may be able to provide.

NZ Government Website

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.

HOW IT SPREADS

The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols.

You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are near someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth. The virus spreads more easily indoors and in crowded settings.
